Based on the bestselling novel of the same name, The Railway Man tells the extraordinary and epic true story of Eric Lomax (Oscar winner Colin Firth, The King's Speech), a British Army officer who is tormented as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labor camp during World War II.

A victim from World War II's "Death Railway", Eric Lomax sets out to find those responsible for his torture.

Decades after the war, Lomax discovers that the Japanese interpreter he holds responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him, and his haunting past.

Based on a true story.
